Special Notices
The Montville Board of Education is seeking nominations
from staff members, parents and members of the community
of a Montville teacher to represent us in the Connecticut Teacher
of the Year Program. The program is designed to recognize
and honor teacher excellence and celebrates excellence in teaching
by recognizing teachers who have inspired a love for learning
in their students and who have distinguished themselves in the
profession.
If there is a Montville teacher who you feel has made a difference
in the life of a child, we would like you to please submit a nomination
and a brief explanation of why you feel the teacher should
by Teacher of the Year by Wednesday, April 1 to:
Margaret Tripp
Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent
Office of the Superintendent
800 Old Colchester Road
Oakdale, CT 06370
If you have any questions concerning the Teacher of the Year Program,
please contact Mrs. Tripp at 848-1228.
Montville Child Find Developmental Screenings
Developmental screenings are being scheduled to
locate, identify, and refer as early as possible all young children
(ages three and four) who may have disabilities. This is an effort
to identify those children who are in need of Preschool Special
Education (Part B/619) services of the Individuals with Education
Act.
Screenings include a brief assessment of a child’s speech,
language, fine motor, gross motor, cognitive, social/emotional
and self-help skills.
If you have a child aged 2 1⁄2 to 4 1⁄2 who has not
been screened, please call Caroline Pulkkinen at 860 848-7816
to schedule and obtain further information.
Children will not be seen without an appointment.
