Montville is pleased to announce that four teachers were awarded Fund for Teachers grants today.
These grants will support summer travel experiences aligned with the teachers' personal goals for enhancing their work with students.
JoAnn Dixon will attend the EdTechSA State Conference 2016 in Adelaide, Australia to connect with educators across the world and learn current trends for integration of coding and computational thinking into the curriculum. She will also visit schools in various regions of Australia to develop partnerships for global collaboration.
Lisa Halloran will study art in Paris as a means of enriching the current pilot program, Discussions 4 Learning, to enhance oral language and communication skills of English Language Learners and the vocabulary acquisition of all students.
Lisanne Kaplan will investigate the continuum of services offered at refugee reception centers in Malmö, Sweden in order to bring back best practices for supporting newly arrived students and their families, particularly unaccompanied minors.
Alan Reichle will investigate how the Kwakwaka'wakw tribe on Vancouver Island maintains its heritage and traditions so that he can demonstrate for students the importance of shared cultural values.
