The Physical Education Department has designed a program that emphasizes lifetime fitness while providing students a choice of activities that best suits their individual needs. Each course provides an academic component that is aligned with the physical education curriculum as well as specialized activities designed to meet the needs of students who have chosen that specific activity. Each course also involves an individual fitness component that provides opportunities for students to increase cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
