Jill M. Mazzalupo Principal
Dear Oakdale Families:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jill Mazzalupo and I am excited to be writing to you as the principal of Oakdale Elementary School. As a child, I attended Oakdale School and proudly graduated from Montville High School. After college, I began my teaching career at Mohegan Elementary School where I spent eleven years teaching second and third grade. My administrative experience has been as the Elementary Special Services Program Leader in the Montville Public Schools. This position allowed me to work closely with the elementary principals, teachers, and staff members to meet the individual needs of all students and their families.
As you will see, I am a firm believer that the school must always strive to work together with the home. Keeping this in mind, I hope you will work closely with us to ensure that your child gets the most from our time together at Oakdale School. As you know, a challenging world awaits your child, and it is our responsibility to work as a team to prepare your child for success. I feel strongly that the possibilities for academic, social, and personal growth are tremendous during your child's tenure in elementary school.
This year we will continue to focus on using data to inform instruction, utilizing strategies to increase students' achievement on the Common Core State Standards, and providing exciting and challenging opportunities for all students. We will also continue our focus on character education through our work with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports), which helps to foster a safe and nurturing environment for children.
In addition to building strong relationships and having high academic expectations, it is particularly important to me as a parent myself of two young boys that your child feels safe and looks forward to coming to school each day. If you ever have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me (email@example.com). I look forward to meeting you and working together during the remainder of this year and in the years ahead.
Jill M. Mazzalupo, Principal
