Access to clean water is a challenge for people who live in developing nations. This causes a lot of needless death. In fact, every 3 minutes a child dies from a water borne illness. Once several students at Montville High School learned of these facts and of the Thirst Project organization, they decided to join in the effort. Their goal is to raise $12,000. This is the requisite amount to build a well in Swaziland, a project sponsored by the Thirst Project. They've held and will hold various events, sold t-shirts, and collected cans-all done to raise money for this cause. At Tyl, we've held a Hat Day in the Fall and now are joining in the cause with the National Junior Honor Society sponsoring the bottle and can collection at Tyl and selling t-shirts. The t-shirts are $20. All money raised is going towards the MHS fund to build the well. If you are interested in donating or buying a t-shirt, please contact Ms. Carvalho at firstname.lastname@example.org.
