Everyone’s voice is important and we ask that you go to the link below to complete the parent version of the survey. Your perspective is necessary to help us better understand how we can support all learners. The survey will close on Friday. The link can be found below or on the front page of our website.

Attendance guidance for families We have the responsibility to take attendance each day for all students. State Board of Education Policy (2008) states, “A student is considered to be ‘in attendance’ if present at his/her assigned school, or activity sponsored by the school (e.g., field trip), for at least half of the regular school day.” Keeping this in mind, we will be taking attendance for students who attend school on in-person days, as well as days when students are learning as a hybrid distant learner or a fully remote learner.

On days that your child attends in-person, they are expected to be in school to be considered in attendance. On days that they are learning from home, whether they are a hybrid learner or a fully remote learner, they must be in attendance for at least 50% of the day. Taking part in live meetings, engaging in online activities, and completion of work will count towards remote attendance.

The Paw Print 09.16.2020

We appreciate that you have worked with us over the past two weeks to allow for a smooth transition into the 2020-2021 school year. We are so happy to have your children back in school with us.

In regards to parent drop-off in the morning, please make every effort to have your child exit the vehicle on the passenger side without any adult getting out of the car to assist. We have staff available to help. Having students get out on the driver side and having adults get out of their vehicles slows down our drop-off and poses a safety hazard.

In the coming weeks, we will ask families that are unable to have students get out on the passenger side park their vehicles in a parking spot and walk their children to the building. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Thank you for your patience as we determine the most efficient and safe manner to conduct dismissal. At this time, we are dismissing students outside, but are exploring options to move pickup to the cafeteria in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more information.

Beginning next week, cohort 1 students in grade 1-5 may purchase ice cream in the cafeteria on Tuesdays and cohort 2 in grades 1-5 may purchase ice cream on Fridays. Kindergarten students will be able to purchase ice cream at some point in October once they have become familiarized with the cafeteria/lunch routines. All ice cream must be purchased in the beginning of the lunch period.

We were so excited to welcome back all of our students in cohort 1 yesterday and we can’t wait to see students in cohort 2 tomorrow.

In the welcome back email/letter that was sent home last week, a dismissal form was attached. It is imperative that the dismissal form is completed and sent to school immediately. If your child attends cohort 1 and you did not in the form, please do so on Monday. If your child is in cohort 2, please make every effort to have your child bring the form to school tomorrow. Please let the office know if you need a hard copy sent home. This form indicates your child’s daily/regular dismissal routine.

If you need to make an occasional change to the routine for an unforeseen reason, please send your child to school with a note.
