To MHS teacher Kelly Brooks and students - Olivia, Madeline, and Massiel,
Once again, I want to begin by sharing with you what an OUTSTANDING job you ALL did yesterday!!!! This CAS webinar on PIP is, in my humble opinion, probably one of our BEST EVER! Definitely in the TOP 5! And, the four of you, Kelly, Olivia, Madeline, and Masseil, really nailed it!!!! You definitely sold PIP! It was so wonderful to hear about your projects and the work you are doing. Your passion, enthusiasm, confidence, and joy for your PIP projects and learning came through loud and clear. In fact, you may not have noticed, but if you go back and listen to the recording, you can probably hear when I first started talking to you to ask a couple of questions that I actually got choked up (surprised me - LOL) because I was so AMAZED and IMPRESSED with the work the four of you are doing at Montville with PIP! And, I include you in this, too Kelly, as it takes an amazing teacher to trust the process, get out of the way and let the learning happen! It takes a special teacher to know when to be there to support the learning instead of directing it! It is clear from listening to the 3 students that they have gained and developed way more knowledge, skills, self-confidence, and agency than they ever would have through the traditional science (STEM) or humanities curricula. And, I can assure you, Olivia, Madeline, and Massiel, no matter where you go or what you decide to do, you have definitely gained the knowledge, skills, and experiences that will carry you through and help you achieve your goals and success! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!
