Animal Cell Project: 140 points

Remember to complete your project over the weekend! And also to complete the extra credit crossword puzzle!

**Extra credit: Crossword** 20 bonus points
Design a crossword puzzle using the functions as clues and the organelles as the puzzle words. Create a blank puzzle and an answer key to hand in. This may be done by hand or on computer. Due with project.

Each project must include the animal cell's 12 organelles and their functions.

Option 1: Group (2 to 4 people)
Play Time!
You will create a short performance (play) about the structure of and function of the organelles and perform in front of the class. Instead of doing one long play you may want to do a bunch of small ones so that you can cover all of the organelles and functions. You will hand in a script.

Option 2: Individual
Making a Model
You may make a 3-D model with whatever materials you would like (as long as they are NOT food items). All models must be labeled using a key and will be presented to the class. If you have any other model ideas please ask your teacher before beginning.

Option 3: Group (2 people) or Individual
Make a Board Game
You will create a playable board game using the organelles and their functions. All cards and game pieces must accompany your game. You will present your game to the class and demonstrate how it is played.

Option 4: Individual
Poem/Short Story
You will write an original poem/short story about the animal cell, its organelles, and their functions. You will hand in all drafts (you must have at least 1 rough draft) and you will also read it to the class.

Option 5: Individual
Tour the Cell Brochure
Create a brochure (by hand or using Publisher) that takes us on the tour of an animal cell. Use descriptive language and include at least 3 pictures—you’re trying to sell a trip through the cell!

Option 6: Individual
Self-Design
Come up with your own idea for a project that incorporates all of the requirements stated in the rubric. Get it approved by your teacher before beginning.
