September 2 - First Day of School

Welcome to Tyl Middle School!

It is with great honor and privilege that I welcome everyone to Leonard J. Tyl Middle School. Your children, our students, are why we are here. We want them to not only excel academically, but to also learn about respect, ethical and responsible decision-making, and social skills, which we, at Leonard J. Tyl Middle School, consider to be equally important. We will continue to strive to create an environment where students feel safe, comfortable, and respected. It is our intention that the middle level years at the Tyl Middle School will provide each student with a successful and productive school experience.

Most Sincerely,
Thomas W. Giard III
Principal

Southeastern Connecticut "Minds in Motion" 2008
Saturday, November 8, 2008; 12:30 – 4:00 p.m.
Tyl Middle School

For the first time ever, Montville will host a "Minds in Motion" event at Tyl Middle School. It will be an afternoon of fun, fast-paced, hands-on workshops geared to high-ability, motivated learners in Kindergarten through Grade 8. There will also be workshops for parents on topics related to parenting and education. In addition, many interesting vendors and exhibitors will be there to offer their resources.
The planning for Minds in Motion has started, and we need more parents to join the fun! Committee members' children receive priority placement in the workshops of their choice, with Committee Chairs' children receiving free registration (up to 2 children).
