The schools will provide annual written notification to parents, guardians and students (if an emancipated minor or over 18 years of age) of all screenings to be conducted within the district and the procedures for carrying out health screenings within the schools. The school nurse shall be responsible for conducting the vision screening in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10 during the fall semester. In addition, vision screening shall be provided for any student referred by parent, teacher or other school personnel. A postural screening program shall be conducted annually for students in grades 5 through 9. Students in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, all children with Down's Syndrome or cleft palates and any preschooler referred to special services will have their hearing screened with puretone screening.
