ELIGIBILITY - EXTRA CURRICULAR

ACTIVITY (E.C.A.) (High School)

1. Definition

Any non-required school sponsored activity for which no academic credit is given and faculty supervision is provided.

2. Minimum Requirements for Student Participation

a. In order to participate actively in any E.C.A., a student must pass at least four (4) major academic subjects in each mark-ing period. A major subject is defined to be a subject which meets five periods per week. In cases involving fall activities, the student must have had final passing grades in at least four (4) major subjects the previous school year.

b. Any student who is suspended from school for disciplinary reasons is not permitted to participate in any E.C.A. for the duration of that suspension.

c. Any student who is absent for a full day is not permitted to participate in any E.C.A. any time during that calendar day. An absent student may participate if he/she has a valid excuse and if a parent or guardian calls the school in advance to receive permis-sion.

d. The athletic coaches and other advisors will be responsible for notifying the stu-dents when they become ineligible at the end of each marking period.

e.In the event of situations arising not cov-ered by these rules, the principal will have the final decision.
