A Letter from the Director of Special Services

April 14, 2016

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is a pleasure and honor to introduce myself to you as the newly appointed Director of Special Services. I possess over 20 years of experience working with students and families in both public and private education settings. I hold a Bachelor and Master's degree in Social Work as well as a Master's Degree in Education and Administrative Leadership.

My most recent administrative experience has been shaped by three years of successful leadership in Student Support Services and 6 years as a school behaviorist, supervising special education programs for at-risk students. Prior to this position, I held the position of classroom teacher for grades 6 and 7.

I am very passionate and committed to working with students and families. I am a firm believer in the home/school connection and it is my hope that we will work together in a collaborative effort to provide the highest level of academic, social and emotional growth for your children.

My door will always be open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions or ideas to help improve our services. I look forward to meeting you and working closely with the staff, students and families of the Montville school district.

Respectfully,

Paula LaChance

Director of Special Services
