This is a student aspiration awards program that honors students who model the Eight Conditions. These conditions must be in place for affirmative changes to occur in a student’s academic career. The conditions are: Belonging, Sense of Accomplishment, Curiosity & Creativity, Leadership & Responsibility, Heroes, Fun & Excitement, Spirit of Adventure, and Confidence to Take Action. The awards will be handed out once very twenty days with each condition being a focus for that period of time. During the last twenty days of the year all eight conditions will be recognized. The dates are listed below next to each condition.

What are the criteria for obtaining the award(s)?

We ask that you use the Eight Conditions to guide your selection of students for the awards:

Belonging 9/5-10/2 ~ Students who ensure that others feel welcome, valued and safe at school.

Sense of Accomplishment 10/3-10/31 ~ Students who try their best and are successful in ways that are not typically recognized.

Curiosity and Creativity 11/1-12/4 ~ Students who are inquisitive enough to ask "why?" and imaginative enough to ask "why not?”

Leadership and Responsibility 12/5-1/10 ~ Students who are not afraid to make decisions and accept responsibilities for their choices.

Fun and Excitement 1/11-2/11 ~ Students who are engaged in learning and share their enthusiasm with others.

Confidence to Take Action 2/12 – 3/12 ~ Students who set goals and are taking the necessary steps to reach those goals.

Spirit of Adventure 3/13-4/10 ~ Students who are willing to take a chance and push their boundaries to succeed.

Heroes 4/11-5/15 ~ Students who are role models for others.

Who can nominate a student?

Any staff member can nominate a student. Just fill out a nomination form and turn it into the office during the twenty day cycle for that condition.

How will a student be recognized?

The students who have received a nomination will be recognized in the cafeteria during their lunch period, presented with a certificate and have their picture taken which will be displayed on a bulletin board.

Can more than one student receive an award?
Yes, this recognition program is to recognize all students that have aspired to greatness.

Can a student receive more than one award?
Yes, a student is not limited to one award.
