Independent
Connecticut Petroleum Association Education Foundation
(ICPA) The Eugene M. Mangini HVAC Scholarship is the creation of the Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association Education Foundation, a non-profit 501 [c] [3] educational vocational technical school certified by the State of Connecticut's Board of Higher Education. Independent Connecticut Petroleum Association Education Foundation, Inc. admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Foundation. The Foundation shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs. Eligibility for the scholarship is based on only
those who are about to graduate from high school or those who have graduated
from high school within the previous 90 days. Scholarship applications, whether this online version or the brochure version, must be completed in full and then the applicant must attach his or her high school transcript so that the SAB may review the applicant's academic performance as well as the information required in the application. The ITEC SAB will make determinations of eligibility and criteria each quarter and decide how many, if any, scholarships will be awarded during that quarter. Successful applicants will be notified by email and regular mail if they have been selected for the scholarship. If the student applicant declines the scholarship the offer of the

The New London NAACP Scholarship The New London Branch of the NAACP is in the process of selecting candidates for scholarships. The scholarship is based on the student’s scholastic ability, intellectual potential and personal integrity. The applicants are not required to demonstrate a financial need or specify other sources of financial aid. The $250.00 college scholarships will be presented at their annual Freedom Fund Banquet on June 24, 2005, at the Groton Inn and Suites, Groton, CT. All Applicants must submit a 250-word essay on one of the topics listed. The completed essay must be sent to the Shirley J. Gillis, President, NAACP, PO Box 987, New London, CT 06320 and postmarked by June 1, 2005. Horatio
Alger Association Scholarship Programs Founded in 1947, the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans continues to fulfill its mission of honoring the achievements of outstanding individuals in our society who have succeeded in spite of adversity and of encouraging young people to pursue their dreams through higher education. The Association brings the “Horatio Alger Heroes” of today together with those of tomorrow by bestowing the Horatio Alger Award each year and by awarding more than $5 million annually in college scholarships to young people. Horatio Alger Scholars have faced challenges and realize that a college education is the avenue to a better future. The Association also provides its scholarship recipients with financial aid counseling, and internship and job placement assistance. Horatio Alger National Scholarship 100 $10,000 Scholarships Awarded As one of the nation's largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is the only major scholarship effort that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many aid programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger program also seeks students who have a commitment to use their college degrees in service to others. CT Is looking for college-bound juniors who are interested in attending an all expense one-week summer program here at the Coast Guard Academy. The program will introduce students to not only life as a cadet here at the Academy, but also the Coast Guard, and all our technical majors. They'll also have the opportunity to participate in some engineering projects throughout the week. We are looking for juniors who have scored a minimum of 50 on both
their Math and Verbal of their PSAT. Additionally, we will need the
students to fill out the application found at: Interested students must have completed packages to in no later than
June 15, to have them reviewed by the board and a decision back to them

The Milton
Fisher Scholarship for Innovative and Creativity The Renée B. Fisher Foundation has established this scholarship program in memory of Milton Fisher, whose life was marked by a passion for innovative and creative problem solving that extended across a broad range of fields of endeavor. Mr. Fisher was also passionate about encouraging others to take the initiative in finding innovative and creative solutions to the problems around them, in their personal and professional lives and in the lives of their families and communities. This scholarship is not a traditional scholarship focused on rewarding academic achievement and financial need. Its specific goal is to reward and encourage innovative and creative problem solving. We are looking for:
The Scholarship aims to honor these students and to help make their higher education goals more accessible. Eligible applicants to the Milton Fisher Scholarship for Innovation and Creativity must satisfy these two conditions:

Maine Maritime Academy This is a five-day experience in coastal oceanography and marine biology. The schedule for each five-day program emphasizes coastal oceanography and marine biology and includes labs, lectures and field trips aboard Academy-owned vessels. Students will be introduced to principles of biology, chemistry, geology and physics as they relate to the marine environment. This program is designed for high school students who have completed at least one year of high school, have an interest in working on the ocean or in marine science as a career choice and have at least a “B” (3.0 or 80%) overall average. A certificate will be awarded to those completing the program. |

Maine Maritime Academy This program is a five-day experience in nautical science that is intended for students who have completed at least one year of high school but have not yet graduated. The schedule for the five-day program includes classroom and field instruction in introductory navigation, seamanship, basic boating safety, meteorology, sailing and power boating. It is an intensive program for students who have an interest in nautical
activities, and students should expect to spend up to 14 hours per day
in program activities. A Certificate will be awarded to those completing
the program. |

Smith College This is a four-week residential program for exceptional young women with strong interests in science, engineering and medicine. Each summer, select high school students from across the country and abroad come to Smith College to do Hands-on research with Smith faculty in the life and physical sciences and in engineering. NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING EXECUTIVES ASSOCIATION High school seniors, college or graduate students who have an immediate or retired member of their family working for a New England Newspaper Advertising Executives Association member newspaper (parent, aunt, uncle, sibling, grandparent, spouse, current employees) may apply for the NENAEA 2006-07 scholarships. Applications for the NENAEA/Nelson A. Demers, George F. White and Frank Standley scholarships are available from the advertising director at member newspapers and may also be printed from this site.
