A message from Assistant Principal Joan M. Joplin
Welcome Friends!

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Dr. Charles E. Murphy School. I am thrilled to be part of your school and your children’s lives. Along with Principal Mr. Newton and the teachers and staff, I am committed to providing the best possible education for your child. It is my belief that educating the students of Murphy School is not just attaining academic achievement. We understand the importance of assuming the responsibility to educate “the whole child”. The physical, social and emotional well being of children is an essential part of their elementary school years. We are dedicated to preparing your children for the world. We also believe that each parents’ involvement in his/her child’s education can have a positive impact on that child’s success. To facilitate this involvement, we will:

· keep you informed of services available to students at Murphy School
· provide information about the curricula, assessments and expectations of Murphy School
· seek input from parents through Murphy Parent Council
· maintain communication through use of the website, newsletters and Friday Folders
· support learning through a variety of homework experiences, cultural arts programs, curriculum-related field trips and assemblies

As with Mr. Newton, my door is always open and I would love the opportunity to meet each and every one of you. I encourage you to come in and visit, walk the halls of our school and spend some time in the classrooms. You’ll be surprised at what you’ll see, it’s magical. Your children are beautiful and the teachers are passionate about their work.

I wish you all a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,

Joan M. Joplin
