I would like to introduce you to Mohegan Elementary School. Mohegan School educates children from kindergarten through the fifth grade. Students take classes in art, music, physical education, in addition to the core academic subject areas. In grades one through five, students have the opportunity to take Spanish, and kindergarten through second grade students have a regularly scheduled library period each week. Students in grades three through five complete research assignments and have projects that are coordinated by their classroom teacher and the library media specialist. Mohegan School offers special education services from full inclusion in general education classes with a team teaching approach, to a more self-contained program, depending on individual student needs. |
Mohegan School teachers and staff members have a commitment to educate the whole child, so children are viewed as unique individuals whose differences are celebrated as educational teams work to maximize learning for each student. There are varied educational opportunities available to students, while the cultivation of good character building and enhancing positive self-esteem is a paramount concern for us all.
