EMPLOYMENT
Students are encouraged to find part time employment. Palmer Academy staff views
employment and training as part of an overall plan relating to goals of transition.
This work experience may be transferred toward credit for graduation. It is
the student’s responsibility to verify employment and hours worked by
presenting payroll stubs to their case manager or to the principal.
School Supported Employment (SSE)
Upon earning sufficient academic credit and reaching age sixteen students are eligible to begin exploring careers through school supported employment. SSE utilizes several supported employment programs. Cooperation with job coaches and employers is expected. SSE is one component of transition services for students.
