Practical Mathematics is math with a purpose. It focuses on application of skills that students probably already know to real life problems and challenges. Some of these real life problems and challenges include buying, saving, and spending. Understanding pay stubs and bank statements is also covered. Students are exposed to loans and interest, credit cards, and insurance. Knowing how to create a budget is also stessed. The main text book for this course is Pacemaker's Practical Mathematics for Consumers.
